Ropes & Gray Bars TikTok From Employees' Devices

Law360 (July 15, 2020, 8:10 PM EDT) -- Ropes & Gray LLP has asked all its employees to remove TikTok from any device they use for work, as concern grows over whether operators of the social media app are snooping through users' clipboards, a source close to the firm confirmed Wednesday.

The firm wants all its attorneys and other personnel to delete the app, following recent reports that users are getting alerts that TikTok is copying information from their devices' clipboards, which at least one client has found concerning, according to the source.

Ropes & Gray officials could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.
