China Sets New Tariffs For US, Foreign Nylon

Law360, New York (October 20, 2009, 2:58 PM EDT) -- China’s Ministry of Commerce has imposed new tariffs on nylon 6, or polycaprolactam, from the U.S., European Union, Russia and Taiwan, continuing what some consider to be retaliatory tariffs stemming from the U.S.’ recent decision to impose tariffs on Chinese tire imports.

Chinese authorities issued a preliminary ruling Monday imposing tariffs of up to 36 percent on nylon imported from the U.S., Dow Jones reported.
