Senators Push For Speed On US-Asia Trade Deal

Law360, New York (October 23, 2009, 1:04 PM EDT) -- Two senators are urging President Barack Obama to wrap up free trade negotiations in the Asia-Pacific region, stressing the need for the United States to promote export-oriented growth in the area.

Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., and Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said in a letter to Obama on Thursday that completing the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership talks was crucial due to the importance of Asia-Pacific markets for American farmers, ranchers, manufacturers and service providers.
