Chicago Title Wins $1.25M Over Botched Policy

Law360, New York (October 23, 2009, 5:36 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has added nearly $327,000 in attorneys' fees to a judgment for Chicago Title Insurance Co. in a contract spat over a policy on an 88-acre development site, bringing the company's final award to more than $1.25 million.

Chicago Title won summary judgment in April against Wausau, Wis.-based Runkel Abstract & Title Co., a partner agency it accused of breaching contract by botching the execution of a policy with a Wisconsin landowner.
