Harvard International Settles MPEG-2 Suit For $10M

Law360, New York (October 23, 2009, 7:32 PM EDT) -- Electronics distributor Harvard International PLC has agreed to pay $10 million to resolve litigation accusing the U.K.-based company of infringing certain patents for MPEG-2 technology in its global distribution of products that use the standard.

Harvard International announced in a press release Friday that the company had reached an out-of-court settlement that covers the company and its subsidiaries on a global basis and not just in England.
