China Launches Probe Of EU X-Ray Machines

Law360, New York (October 26, 2009, 2:05 PM EDT) -- China’s Ministry of Commerce has launched an investigation into X-ray security screening machines imported from the European Union over concerns that the equipment is being dumped in China.

The probe will be wrapped up by October 2010, but may be extended to April 2011 if necessary, the ministry said Friday, according to official Chinese news agency Xinhua.

The ministry said it decided to start the investigation after Nuctech Co. Ltd., China’s leading inspection equipment maker, requested the review in August 2008, Xinhua said.
