CBP Looks To Clarify Rules For Audit Procedures

Law360, New York (October 26, 2009, 2:24 PM EDT) -- U.S Customs and Border Protection has proposed changes to the rules regarding the use of statistical sampling in audits and prior disclosure cases and the use of offsetting in audits, amendments the agency says will clarify and strengthen its auditing procedures.

CBP posted a notice of the proposed amendments in the Federal Register on Wednesday. The agency asked for comments to be submitted on the proposal by Dec. 21.
