FAU Settles Email Access, TM Claims Against Tutoring Biz

Law360 (September 3, 2020, 9:19 PM EDT) -- Florida Atlantic University has reached a settlement to end its suit accusing a tutoring company of infringing its trademarks and using students' accounts to send mass marketing emails without authorization, according to a joint stipulation filed Wednesday in Florida federal court.

Under the terms of the settlement, defendants Owl Tutoring Inc. and Neil Parsont will no longer be able to use the name Owl Tutoring, an owl logo, or FAU's colors, according to a copy of the agreement provided to Law360 by the university.
