Settlement Reached In GPS Patent Spat

Law360, New York (November 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- SiRF Technology Inc. and u-Nav Microelectronics have settled a patent infringement lawsuit over Global Positioning System technologies rather than taking their dispute to trial.

According to the agreement, which was announced Tuesday, SiRF will grant u-Nav a license to some of its patents in return for an undisclosed amount of cash, ongoing royalties and a cross license to certain u-Nav GPS patents.
