3rd Circ. Revives Investor Suit Against Carnegie Mellon

Law360, New York (October 28, 2009, 6:44 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has revived a British investor's lawsuit against Carnegie Mellon University for investment losses he allegedly sustained when a company sponsoring one of the school's research projects went under.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on Monday reversed a ruling in favor of the university, finding that the lower court erred in concluding that the plaintiff had failed to show CMU proximately caused his losses.
