China To Weigh Duties On Big 3 Automakers' Imports

Law360, New York (October 28, 2009, 6:34 PM EDT) -- China has reportedly notified the United States of a formal anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigation that could result in new import duties on automobiles made by Chrysler Group LLC, Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Co.

Having rattled the scabbard a few times since President Barack Obama rolled out steep new tariffs on Chinese tires in September, China on Wednesday signaled its resolve to probe and potentially offset pricing advantages the Big Three enjoy on exports, Reuters reported.
