Law Grads Fear Tech Troubles Ahead Of Remote Bar Exam

Law360 (September 24, 2020, 9:13 PM EDT) -- Less than two weeks before thousands of attorney hopefuls in over a dozen states are scheduled to take the bar exam remotely, technological problems ranging from trouble clicking multiple-choice options to suspicious money transfers after downloading the exam program are cropping up, suggesting a remote exam is easier said than done.

After a monthslong delay, 20 jurisdictions appear set to move forward with a remote bar exam on Oct. 5 and 6, despite concerns raised by groups including student organizations, the American Civil Liberties Union and several California law school deans.
