China Agrees To End H1N1 Ban On US Pork

Law360, New York (October 29, 2009, 3:32 PM EDT) -- U.S. officials say China has pledged to end its ban on the import of American pork products and live animals, a measure it enacted because of fears about the spread of the swine flu virus.

“I look forward to China resuming imports of U.S. pork products and live swine,” said U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk in a statement Thursday. “We expect China to base its opening on science and internationally agreed standards.”
