FedEx Wins New Trial Over Intrepid's $7M Award

Law360, New York (October 30, 2009, 5:13 PM EDT) -- An Oregon appeals court has ordered a new trial on the issue of a $7 million punitive damages award for independent contractor Intrepid Corp. in its breach of contract suit against FedEx Ground Package System Inc., finding that the award was “grossly excessive” in violation of federal law.
