Drinker Biddle Cuts Lawyers As Focus Shifts To Merit

Law360, New York (October 30, 2009, 5:43 PM EDT) -- Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP has reportedly laid off about 20 attorneys amid a transition from a year-based to a competency-based system of associate advancement.

Above the Law reported Friday that 22 associates were laid off by the law firm Thursday. John Byrne, a spokesman for Drinker Biddle, said the firm didn't comment on such matters.
