FDA Says P&G Is Illegally Marketing Vicks Products

Law360, New York (October 30, 2009, 6:12 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has warned Procter & Gamble Co.'s CEO that the company is illegally marketing two of its Vicks cold and flu products that contain vitamin C, the agency said Friday.

The FDA told CEO Robert McDonald in an Oct. 29 letter that Vicks DayQuil Plus Vitamin C and Vicks Nyquil Plus Vitamin C could not continue to be marketed as a combination of drug ingredients and a vitamin C dietary supplement because the combination has not been proven safe and effective...
