CFTC Calls FY20 A Record-Breaking Year For Enforcement
By Dean Seal (October 6, 2020, 5:46 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission said Tuesday that fiscal year 2020 saw the agency's enforcement division break new ground with a landmark $920 million spoofing settlement and more enforcement actions than in any year prior.
The commodities regulator issued an announcement proclaiming the fiscal year, which ended on Sept. 30, a "record-breaking year" given the 113 civil suits it launched, the high-profile deal with JPMorgan Chase & Co. announced on Sept. 29 and the agency's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
