DC Police Sergeants Appeal Dismissal Of Back Pay Suit

Law360, New York (November 3, 2009, 1:54 PM EST) -- Four police sergeants have appealed the dismissal of their suit against the District of Columbia's Metropolitan Police Department, after a federal judge's ruling that the case was both time-barred and blocked by an earlier arbitration proceeding involving the same claims and parties.

Four of the seven active sergeants who originally brought the suit seeking back pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Washington's labor code filed notice of their appeal with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Friday.
