Trade Court Again Blocks Tariff Expansion On Solar Panels
Law360 (October 15, 2020, 7:04 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of International Trade on Thursday again blocked the Trump administration from expanding safeguard duties on solar panels, saying it can't lift an injunction stopping the duties while the order is being appealed.
CIT Judge Gary S. Katzmann said the court's authority over this case that was brought by Chicago-based renewable energy company Invenergy Renewables LLC challenging the federal government's decision to no longer exclude double-sided solar panels from safeguard duties is limited to keeping the case and appeal intact until the Federal Circuit rules on the appeal.
