US Takes Mexico 'Dolphin Safe' Spat To NAFTA Panel

Law360, New York (November 5, 2009, 6:16 PM EST) -- The United States is taking a dispute with Mexico over “dolphin safe” tuna labels before a North American Free Trade Agreement panel for settlement consultations, U.S. trade officials said Thursday.

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative said Mexico refused to move its dispute from the World Trade Organization to a NAFTA panel, as the United States requested in March after Mexico brought the complaint.
