EPA Makes Bid To File Amicus In PCB Cleanup Fight

Law360, New York (November 9, 2009, 6:33 PM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has asked a North Carolina judge for permission to file amicus briefs in litigation claiming that companies including 3M Co. and Kraft Foods Global Inc. should pay to clean up a PCB-laden abandoned electrical transformer repair facility.

In the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina on Monday the EPA asked for permission to participate as an amicus curiae in two consolidated cases involving Superfund site Ward Transformer Co. Inc.
