Demand For Legal Services Is Stabilizing, Report Says

Law360, New York (November 10, 2009, 5:40 PM EST) -- The legal industry continues to contend with a weak and volatile market, but demand for services has shown signs of stabilizing, according to a new report.

Hildebrandt International Inc.'s “Peer Monitor Index,” which the consulting firm issued on Nov. 3 based on the third-quarter performance of law firms, found that litigation demand, as measured by billable hours, increased by 1.8 percent during the first three quarters of 2009 compared to the last three quarters of 2008.
