Jeh Johnson Rips Trump, Allies For Capitol 'Insurrection'

Law360 (January 14, 2021, 12:10 PM EST) -- Former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson on Wednesday condemned the violent mob who took part in the siege of the U.S. Capitol last week as un-American and placed the blame for the violence squarely on President Donald Trump.

At an award gala hosted by the New York County Lawyers Association hours after the House of Representatives voted to impeach Trump for a second time, Johnson said the president and some of his allies are responsible for stoking the flames of violence that led to the assault, which resulted in the deaths of five people.
