Sherwin-Williams Appeals $7M Lead Paint Verdict

Law360, New York (November 12, 2009, 5:48 PM EST) -- The Sherwin-Williams Co. asked Mississippi’s highest court on Thursday to review a $7 million jury verdict against it in a county-level action alleging a child suffered brain damage after eating chips of lead-based paint made by the company.

The paint maker appealed the Circuit Court of Jefferson County, Miss.’s final judgment by verdict and denial of motions for a new trial and a judgment notwithstanding the verdict to the Supreme Court of Mississippi.
