Dofasco Rejects Mittal's Urgings To Sell In Arcelor Bid

Law360, New York (November 13, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Merging steel giants Mittal Steel Company NV and Arcelor SA said Monday they will not be able to sell off Canadian tin mill Dofasco Inc., a move they had planned in order to satisfy U.S. antitrust demands.

The boards of both companies had requested the directors of the Strategic Steel Stichting, the Dutch foundation that holds the shares of Dofasco, to dissolve the foundation so that the companies could sell Dofasco.
