FDA Issues Safety Warning About 5 Genzyme Drugs

Law360, New York (November 13, 2009, 2:44 PM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Friday that five drugs manufactured by Genzyme Corp. could be contaminated with bits of steel and other foreign particles, but it is not pulling the drugs from shelves.

FDA issued a safety alert saying it has not received any reports of adverse reactions to the drugs but that it is urging health care professionals to keep an eye out for patients who show signs of a reaction.
