Prosthetic Liner Maker Accuses Rival Of Monopoly

Law360, New York (November 16, 2009, 4:51 PM EST) -- Alps South LLC has hit a rival prosthetic limb liner maker with a suit accusing it of illegally restraining competition and maintaining a monopoly in the fabric-covered polymeric gel liners market by fraudulently obtaining three patents for these devices.

The suit, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, comes nearly four years after The Ohio Willow Wood Co. lodged its own suit in the same court claiming that Alps had infringed one of these patents by selling its Easy Liner,...
