HP, Others Sued Over Vapor Chamber Patent

Law360, New York (November 16, 2009, 5:56 PM EST) -- Convergence Technologies LLC has accused Hewlett-Packard Co. and two other companies of infringing a patent related to cooling technology for electronics, suing in U.S. court after losing an intellectual property battle in Taiwan.

The Reston, Va.-based company sued HP, Sapphire Technology Ltd. and Microloops Corp. on Nov. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

According to Convergence, HP and Sapphire use a technology sold by Microloops that infringes the Virginia company's "vapor chamber" cooling technology covered by U.S. Patent Number 7,422,053....
