ITC Clears Way For Duties On Indian Matchbooks

Law360, New York (November 18, 2009, 2:23 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has found that U.S. industry is harmed by imports of commodity matchbooks from India, clearing the way for countervailing and anti-dumping duties on the matchbooks.

The ITC was unanimous in its decision, the commission announced Tuesday. The DOC may now issue countervailing and anti-dumping duty orders on the matchbooks.

A representative of the Indian embassy in Washington, which participated in the investigation, could not immediately be reached for comment on Wednesday. No Indian companies were respondents in the investigation.
