Tokyo Gas Pipe Makers Raided By Antitrust Authorities

Law360, New York (November 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The offices of eight Japanese chemical companies were raided Tuesday by Japan’s antitrust authories over their suspected involvement in a price cartel for polyethylene gas pipes.

The companies whose offices were raided included Mitsui Chemicals Inc., Fujikako Co., Hitachi Metals Ltd., Mitsubishi Plastics Inc. and Nippon Chutetsukan K.K. in Tokyo, and Sekisui Chemical Co., Kyosei Co. and Kubota CI Co. in Osaka.
