EPA, 75 Parties Reach Deal Over Calif. Superfund Site

Law360, New York (November 18, 2009, 1:48 PM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has reached an agreement with dozens of potentially responsible parties to address indoor air contamination at commercial buildings near the Omega Chemical Corp. Superfund site in Whittier, Calif.

The agency announced the settlement, which involves 75 members of the Omega Chemical Site PRP Organized Group, on Tuesday.

Under the terms of the agreement, the settling members will design, install and operate an interim soil vapor extraction system in the immediate vicinity of the buildings to capture the contaminant vapors in soil...
