Judge Orders Name Change For Barton Brands Bourbon

Law360, New York (April 24, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A U.S. District Court Judge in Kentucky has ordered Barton Brands Ltd. to change the name of its Ridgewood Reserve 1792 bourbon, handing a victory to Brown-Forman Corp. in its trademark lawsuit against the rival liquor producer.

Judge Jennifer Coffman also ordered Barton to immediately have retailers remove any Ridgewood Reserve 1792 stocked after the lawsuit was filed last October.
