Israel, Under Pressure From Generics Industry, Delays Changes To Patent Law

Law360, New York (April 25, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Israel’s government, under intense pressure from the country’s generic drug industry, has postponed proposed amendments to the patent law demanded by U.S. officials.

Minister of Industry and Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told local media that he has postponed the introduction of the changes, and that his ministry is negotiating with the U.S. to prevent the listing of Israel as a violator of intellectual property rights.
