Frontier Refining Challenges EPA's $7M Pond Fine

Law360, New York (November 24, 2009, 1:29 PM EST) -- Frontier Refining Inc. has contested the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s fine of nearly $7 million for allegedly dumping harmful waste into a water treatment pond that was not properly built to prevent and detect leaks.

The Cheyenne, Wyo.-based petroleum facility filed a response last week to the EPA’s allegations, arguing that it did not believe the use of the pond structure has caused damage.
