ITC Halts Import Of Infringing Composite Wear Products

Law360 (November 25, 2009, 3:45 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has terminated an investigation into certain composite wear products made by AIA Engineering Ltd. and Vega Industries Ltd. USA after issuing an order barring the importation of these products, which infringe a Magotteaux International SA patent.

The commission on Tuesday upheld an administrative law judge's May 8 finding that India-based AIA Engineering and its Brentwood, Tenn. subsidiary infringed U.S. Patent Number RE39,998 in their unlawful importation of high-chromium wear-, corrosion- and heat-resistant parts used in the cement, mining and thermal power generation industries.
