Court Thwarts Class in Monsanto Antitrust Row

Law360, New York (November 15, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has denied class action status to a slew of plaintiffs that have accused Monsanto Co. of abusing its monopoly on genetically modified corn to unfairly control more than 85% of the herbicide market.

On Wednesday, the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware denied the class certification request in the pending antitrust litigation, dashing the hopes of plaintiff American Seed Co., along with a number of others.
