Hospitals Say Mass. Skimped On Reimbursements

Law360, New York (December 1, 2009, 6:54 PM EST) -- A group of Massachusetts hospitals reeling in the wake of cuts in Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements has lodged a suit accusing state leaders of violating a statutory duty to provide hospitals with enough money to care for poor and elderly patients.

In a complaint lodged Tuesday in Massachusetts' Suffolk Superior Court, Holyoke Medical Center Inc., Berkshire Medical Center Inc., Quincy Medical Center Inc., Merrimack Valley Hospital, Cape Cod Hospital and Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital allege they have lost more than $68.5 million in the three years...
