Audi Seeks To Slash Duties By Excluding Repairs

Law360, New York (December 1, 2009, 6:53 PM EST) -- Following a slew of similar cases brought by parent company Volkswagen AG, Audi of America Inc. has filed suit against the U.S. government in an effort to exclude warranty repair costs from the value of vehicles imported into the U.S. for the purposes of calculating duties.

Audi filed a summons initiating the suit Monday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, seeking to overturn U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s denial of its protests about the warranty repair costs.
