Emblaze Targets Apple Over IPhone Video App

Law360, New York (December 2, 2009, 6:13 PM EST) -- Israeli technology company Emblaze Ltd. has accused Apple Inc. of patent infringement over a live video-streaming application that the technology giant plans to provide for its iPhone and iPod Touch.

Emblaze announced Wednesday that it had "recently notified" Apple about the alleged infringement of an unspecified patent it holds in the United States for streaming media technology.

At issue is Apple's HTTP Live Streaming Application, a QuickTime-based feature that allows for "dynamic adjustment of movie playback quality to suit the available network speed."
