Takeda Sues Watson Over Sleeping Pill ANDA

Law360, New York (December 3, 2009, 3:22 PM EST) -- Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. has launched an infringement action against Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc., opening a new front in its fight to block drugmakers from marketing a generic version of sleep medication Rozerem.

The complaint, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, alleges Watson is seeking regulatory approval to manufacture and sell a treatment for insomnia that infringes Takeda’s patent rights.
