By Syed Rahman (April 15, 2021, 2:51 PM EDT) -- Since April 1, changes have been in effect in relation to the enforcement of sanctions. While this may not generally be considered headline news, it would be unwise to overlook the significance of it.
The U.K. Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation, which applies and carries out sanctions policy, has released the guidance that details its enforcement powers and explains how it will use them.
As the unit of HM's Treasury with responsibility for sanctions policy, it should probably come as little surprise that the OFSI is keen to be seen making noises about its ability and willingness to take enforcement action....
