LG Slams DOE Over New Energy Efficiency Standards

Law360, New York (December 7, 2009, 2:00 PM EST) -- LG Electronics USA Inc. has sued the U.S. Department of Energy, seeking to overturn an “arbitrary and infeasible” agency directive that forces the appliance manufacturer to follow new testing standards to comply with the government's Energy Star program.

In a complaint lodged Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, LG slammed the DOE for requiring the company to retroactively remove the Energy Star label from certain models of French door refrigerators.
