Unilever Yanks Slim-Fast Canned Drinks

Law360, New York (December 4, 2009, 5:43 PM EST) -- Unilever U.S. Inc. is conducting a nationwide recall of its Slim-Fast ready-to-drink canned products due to the possibility of contamination with a microorganism that could cause diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.

The canned products may be contaminated with bacillus cereus, Unilever said in a statement Thursday in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote, it said.

The recalled products are packaged in paperboard cartons and contain four, six or 12 steel cans that are 11 fluid ounces...
