Mayer Brown 1st-Years Asked To Sit Tight Till Oct. 2010

Law360, New York (December 7, 2009, 3:51 PM EST) -- Mayer Brown LLP has asked a handful of its incoming 2009 associates to voluntarily defer their already-rescheduled start date from January to October 2010.

In a statement, Mayer Brown confirmed that 18 of its 161 incoming associates had been asked to consider a voluntary extension of their start date. Those who accept the offer will receive $5,000 per month, as well as health insurance and other benefits, in exchange for taking the later start date, the firm said.
