Wash. Port Sued Over Discharges Into Puget Sound

Law360, New York (December 8, 2009, 6:32 PM EST) -- A nonprofit citizen group has filed a Clean Water Act suit accusing the Port of Olympia in Washington of violating its industrial stormwater permit by allowing dissolved oxygen and other pollutants to enter Puget Sound.

Olympians for Public Accountability said in a suit filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington that the port has violated both the CWA and a settlement agreement it reached with the plaintiff in 2008.
