Senate Bill Seeks Increase In Bottled Water Label Info

Law360, New York (December 8, 2009, 5:50 PM EST) -- Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., introduced a bill Tuesday that would force bottled water manufacturers to include more information on the product's label about the quality and source of the water they use.

The proposal — called the Bottled Water Safety and Right-to-Know Act — would also require manufacturers to provide similar information regarding origin and quality to the Food and Drug Administration, which would also make that data publicly available.
