Ford Restatements Catch SEC’s Attention

Law360, New York (November 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Ford Motor Co. has come under scrutiny by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission over its restated earnings stemming from accounting mistakes.

The auto maker said on Friday it received an informal inquiry from the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance and the Division of Enforcement for more information about the restatement, which modified Ford’s earnings from 2001 through the third quarter of 2006.
