Court Grants Extension Of Parmalat Injunction

Law360, New York (November 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The preliminary injunction barring creditors from taking legal action against Parmalat SpA and its subsidiaries in U.S. courts has been extended through Jan. 25, 2007.

A hearing on whether or not to convert the temporary injunction to a permanent injunction will be held on Jan. 23, 2007.

The order signed by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert D. Drain pushing back the injunction’s possible expiration bars “commencing or continuing” legal action against Parmalat, as well as discovery against the reorganized Parmalat and its subsidiaries, with limited exceptions....
