Celanese Triggers Trade Secrets Suit With Saudi Rival

Law360, New York (November 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Alleging widespread theft of trade secrets through an aggressive employee-recruitment campaign, U.S. chemical firm Celanese Corp. has filed a federal lawsuit against a top Middle Eastern rival, Saudi International Petrochemical Co.

Celanese filed the lawsuit Monday in district court in Harris County, Tex. In addition to Saudi International, which goes by the shortened name Sipchem, the lawsuit names International Acetyls Co. and International Vinyl Acetate Co.
