Sonnenschein Rolls Out Tiered Associate Pay Model

Law360, New York (December 15, 2009, 1:44 PM EST) -- Breaking from traditional law firm metrics focused on billable hours, Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP has unveiled a three-tiered associate pay structure in a bid to reward younger attorneys more broadly for performance, personal development and client value.

The new merit-based compensation and career development model for associate advancement will lend more flexibility for younger attorneys to advance at their own paces, the firm said in a statement Tuesday.
